DJing the weddings of Married At First Sight season 17!
Here’s something we never thought we’d say: We’re on a reality TV show!
We’re honored to be the official wedding DJs and MCs on season 17 of Married At First Sight.
In case you’re not a reality TV buff, Married at First Sight is a long-running reality series on Lifetime in which a team of marriage experts pair up couples who, as the name suggests, meet each other for the first time at the altar.
Season 17 was filmed in Denver, Colorado, with the weddings taking place in January 2023 at Lionsgate Event Center in Lafayette, Colorado. Vanessa Ruiz was the DJ for Clare & Cameron and Michael, while Casey Banker was the DJ for Emily & Brennan, Becca & Austin, and Lauren & Orion.

Lionsgate provided a great venue for the Married at First Sight weddings, which took place over the course of five days. The ceremonies and receptions were held in different buildings a few steps apart from one another, with the ceremonies held in the Chandelier Barn and the receptions held in the Gatehouse where a gorgeous, huge stained glass window served as some of the couples’ backdrop. The crew did an impressive job making each reception look and feel different from the last, with new color schemes and decor for each wedding.
As you can imagine, DJing a Married At First Sight wedding reception was a different experience from our norm (and not just because the couples had just met!). For one thing, all of the music played during filming must come from an approved music library, so for the majority of the night we played the type of music you typically hear on reality TV shows instead of classic wedding hits (though we did get to sneak in a few of those).
Now that we’ve watched the wedding episodes on TV, it’s interesting to see how the interviews and interactions with the couples and their wedding guests differ from what they seemed like in person. The interviews and conversations were much longer in person and definitely seem more dramatic on TV!
Speaking of drama, something happened at one of the weddings that has never happened before in all 17 seasons of Married at First Sight. We’d definitely recommend watching this season!
